Investment Reports
The investment has a little more to it than other reports. If you want something to be included here, it needs to be associated with an investment either at the account level (assets and liabilities) or at the transaction level.
Results are then calculated as follows:
- Outlay: Sum of all items marked with the action ‘Purchase’ or ‘Costs’ in an asset account.
- Current Equity: The most recent estimated value of an asset (marked as ‘Purchase’ or ‘Valuation’ in the asset account) less the balance of associated liability accounts.
- Capital Growth: (Current equity – outlay) / number of years since purchase
- Cashflow: Annual income – annual expenses
- Purchase Return on Investment: cashflow / outlay (used to determine value of initial investment)
- Equity Return on Investment: cashflow / equity (used to determine value of keeping an investment after equity has increased)
